But this is the first article on the ten best new steps for people who want to learn “how to become a blogger and make money,” quit their 9-5 job, gain financial freedom, and live the life of their dreams.

Let’s dive right in.

8+ Best New Steps To Become A Blogger And Make Money This Year

  1. Why Be A Blogger

  3. Learn Blogging Design
  4. Learn Web Writing
  5. Make Mistakes
  6. Shun Blogging Courses
  7. Refine Your Blogging Skills
  8. Get Organize For Blogging
  9. Launch Your 1st Blog
  10. Make Money Blogging

1. Define Your Aim

First and foremost, the number one step you need is your reason for wanting to be a blogger.

Most people out of the box became bloggers by accident. Others became bloggers via laid-off, while others had effective outlines for their bloggers’ journeys.

I never wanted to be a blogger, but I’m one now for reasons outside this blog post.

So to be a blogger, you need to define your “why” and stick with it.

Your goal of becoming a blogger would keep you moving on your journey when things become tough and challenging.

Besides, there are several reasons people become professional bloggers, and one can’t fit all.

You probably heard the saying: “Not one size fits all.” Unfortunately, this statement is true when it comes to bloggers.

If you ask most people if they would like to be bloggers and make more money than at their day job, they would say “yes.”

But the reality sets in, the road or journey seems too long with too many hills to climb, and they eventually quit.

A reason for becoming a blogger is a combination of deep emotional “wants” and “don’t want.” I’ll list a few for you.

Why Become A Blogger

First, the “don’t want,” for they create the “wants.”

  • I don’t want to work at corporate all my life.
  • I wouldn’t say I liked it when about ten people couldn’t lend me money for my studies abroad.
  • I don’t like being an employee all my life.
  • I hated it when they cut the salary of my co-worker
  • I don’t like it when the government delays our salaries

Now the wants:

  • I want to be free to travel the world and live the lifestyle of my dreams
  • It’s nice to do this when you’re young
  • Simply, I want to be free so that I can memorize the Qur’an
  • I want control over my time and my life
  • Again, I want to quit my 9-5 job
  • Most importantly, I want to do things in my way

Those are some of my heart-seated, emotional reasons.

What are yours for wanting to become a blogger?

If they are not strong enough, then the reality of the journey ahead may be stronger than your reasons.

I have failed at several blogs (more on this later), but these emotional reasons kept me experimenting in the future.

When you’re done with your reason for becoming a blogger, you are then required to get the tools bloggers use to do their work, for instance, a laptop ( if you don’t have one).

2. Get A Blogger’s Tools

Secondly, to be a blogger and make money, you’d need blogger tools. Blogger tools help bloggers carry out their day-to-day activities without strain and burnout.

How to become a blogger -step 2 -get the tools

Pro bloggers invest in blogging tools to make their work efficient and error-free. There are many tools bloggers use. Here are the must-have tools if you’re getting started in your blogger’s journey.

Given below based on my humble experience:

1. Computer

Without a computer, you can’t be a blogger is as simple as that. The recipe for being a blogger is sitting in front of a computer for long hours.

There are two sites to the coin regarding computers and blogging……

a laptop and a desktop!

Laptop

I used to have one laptop, but it got outdated and crashed while I was drying in my pocket, so I had to wait several months to get a new laptop before I could continue with my blogging hustle.

Having a laptop as an aspiring blogger has several benefits:

  • You can write on the go
  • Whether it’s in the restaurant
  • Or by the beach,
  • At the workplace, or
  • In the flight, while traveling the world
  • You can even work during lunchtime
Desktop

Yh!

It would also help if you had a desktop computer, but it’s optional. I have both a desktop computer and a laptop.

I bought both of them after my first laptop got crushed. You can use the laptop on the go while the desktop sits at home for other activities.

Most importantly, I write almost all my blog posts on my laptop and switch to the desktop for editing and publishing.

Pro bloggers and writers recommend that you edit your content on a different screen after it’s written.

Don’t get overwhelmed at the beginning. A laptop can do the work, so to start your blogging journey, buy one and follow the steps outlined in this guide.

2. Internet Connection

While you don’t need a super high connection to get your blog posts online, a poor connection can contribute to bad experiences, frustrations, strain, and burnout.

So it would help if you had a reliable internet connection to carry out your day-to-day blogging activities.

I use mobile data to do my online hustles. I buy an internet bundle on my phone and use it for my pursuits.

Besides, I also got a Wi-Fi that I use sometimes, but it’s more expensive than mobile data. That’s why I currently stick with mobile data.

Also, if you want to become a food blogger and make money, all you need to do is get an average laptop and a reliable internet connection, and you’re good to go.

3. Table And Chair

If you want to become a blogger and make money, you have to bend your knees and get your buttocks on the chair to get your blog posts written and get them published online.

So the recipe to becoming a travel blogger and making money is to get a circling chair, table, pens, cup, and a small cubicle, and you’re ready to start blogging.

Working on a table and chair proves effective, comfortable, and healthy.

Comfortable and healthy?

Yh…….

Comfortable and healthy for these reasons:

  • A desk or tabletop gives you a comfortable height
  • A chair supports you for proper ergonomics
  • Good lighting to avoid eye strain and fatigue

4. Solar Panel

Yh!

You read that right!

This is especially true if you live in a house or town with an epileptic electric system.

In the town where I live, the electricity is so epileptic that you can’t operate on a desktop for 2-5 five hours without the light going off.

So recently, I’ve been planning on buying a solar panel for my blogging journey.

For me, having a solar panel has several benefits:

  • I don’t want to disappoint my clients in case they seek me for freelance service.
  • I have schedules to stick with, sometimes, I just sat in front of the computer, and the light went off.
  • This is so frustrating that I am considering buying a solar panel for daily blogging activities.
  • If you also experience such, why don’t you consider a solar panel for your blogging business?

5. Home Office

Combining some of the tools above gives you all you need to set up a home office for your blogger’s journey.

A home office gives you a dedicated spot to do all your blogging work without any interruptions or noise.

So if you seek to make money as a travel blogger, you have to get a circling chair, a table, a pen cup, and a small cubicle, and you’re ready to bend your knees to write blog posts.

You don’t need all the tools listed above to be a blogger.

A laptop and an internet connection are enough to set the ball rolling.

These tips are based on my blogging journey and experience.

3. Learn Blog Design

The third step to becoming a blogger is to learn web and graphic design.

Not any design, but “WordPress.org” and “Canva” Is that simple!

You don’t have to be a coder or a programmer to design websites. There are open-source platforms you can choose to design the website of your choice, especially WordPress.org.

To learn graphic design, use Canva. Focusing on Canva is as simple as writing “1”.

In reality, the most powerful tool you have dominion over is your mind, your most real asset. You can choose what you put in your brain once you’re old enough.

You can watch TV, scroll social media all day, read about golf stories, or take a class on “how to become a blogger.” It’s your choice!

You don’t have to pay thousands of dollars to learn web design. All you need to do is search for online content on how to do web design.

You can’t be a blogger without knowing a little about web designing, so center your attention and energy for the time being on learning how to create and design high-performing websites, especially with WordPress.

There are many web design platforms to choose from but if you want to be a blogger and make money, focus on WordPress.

2 Design Skills To Be A Blogger

1. WordPress Design

WordPress.org is an open-source software to create a beautiful website or app.

It offers beautiful designs, powerful features, and the freedom to build anything.

WordPress is both free and priceless at the same time.

About 43% of the web uses WordPress, from hobby blogs to the biggest news sites online.

UNICEF, for example, is powered by WordPress.

The basic WordPress software is simple and predictable, so you can get started. It also offers powerful features for growth and success.

2. Graphics Design

You’d need graphic design skills on your blogging journey. This allows you to create nice-looking images for your website and blog posts.

You can use Canva to get started. That’s what I used to create all my blog post images, including this blog post you’re reading.

5 Best Ways To Learn WordPress & Canva

1️⃣ Blog Posts

Blogs are awesome resources for learning how to design WordPress websites. This benefit is that you can follow along as you read the article, search a keyword about “how to design WordPress sites” on Google, and you’ll have an ocean of articles to quench your taste.

I have read many blog posts about how to design a WordPress site and still do so. I like and prefer written content to videos.

It’s a matter of personal preferences.

2️⃣ YouTube

YouTube is home to videos of all sizes, with no exception to videos on web design, especially WordPress.

Enter a keyword in the YouTube search bar, and you’ll have in front of you thousands of videos to watch and follow along to design your WordPress site and make money this year.

3️⃣ Books

Another way to study web design is through books. It can either be ebooks or hardcovers.

Books are also popular and beneficial because you can always refer to the book for ideas on how to make your blogger’s journey smooth and error-free.

4️⃣ Free Courses

My first contact with WordPress was through a free online course I took, which had a profound impact on building my design skills.

There are a lot of free courses you can take to get familiar with the WordPress administration dashboard.

Entering the keyword “how to learn Word press for free” into your preferred search engine opens up a lot of results to filter and learn.

5️⃣ Paid Courses

On the other hand, if you have some cash, you can consider a paid course that will provide you with more effective strategies for web designing.

However, I haven’t paid for any course in my journey to becoming a blogger. Your road to success would be different from mine.

4. Learn Web Writing

The real job of bloggers is writing. So the fourth step to becoming a blogger as a beginner is learning how to write…..

and write well.

Not any writing but web writing.

There is a difference between how you read articles online and offline, so to be a better blogger, you need to master the art of online writing and write well.

The best way to learn writing is to stop talking, sit in front of your computer, and write.

As a blogger, your main duty would be to write and publish your articles on the web, knowing that it is as simple as drawing a “line.”

5 Best Way To Learn Online Writing

1️⃣ Write

As mentioned above, the only way you can master the art of writing is to sit down and write….write and write until you’re confident in your ability to write ✍ for an online audience.

You may not find it easy at first but keep going and practicing until you’re good enough. I delayed starting a blog because I was afraid and incompetent about my writing ability.

It’s ok to make mistakes at the beginning….we learn by making mistakes.

2️⃣ Read Online

To write and write well, you must read and consume online content a lot. This gives you ideas on how bloggers structure their blog posts, tones, and writing styles.

So….

Set some time in your day to read and consume online content such as:

  • Blog posts
  • For email content, for example, the Morning Brew newsletter, you can sign up here it’s free
  • News and magazines
  • Social media
  • Community and forums and
  • Online groups
3️⃣ YouTube

You must watch YouTube videos on writing and copywriting to learn how to write for an online audience.

Many YouTube channels are dedicated to teaching and providing writing tips to freelance writers, copywriters, and content marketers, so why not take inventory of yourself to join them in your journey to becoming a professional blogger?

4️⃣ Books

This is by far one of the best ways to perfect your writing!

You can learn to write by reading books by excellent authors.

While you can buy books on writing, expand your horizon to include books in other industries like finance, accounting, and marketing, especially the Rich Dad series by Robert T. Kiyosaki.

5️⃣ Courses

You can also consider taking online courses to better your writing. You can take many free courses, like Fundamentals of Digital Marketing, from Google Digital Garage. This course gives you a deep dive into all the aspects of digital marketing.

This was the first course I took in my journey to becoming a digital marketer. The videos are so interesting that you will learn much in 40 hours.

Another one to consider is the HubSpot content marketing course, which is well-structured and gives you the basics of creating and writing online content.

Also, consider Neil Patel’s free courses on content marketing.

On the other side, if you have extra cash, you can consider a paid course to up your web writing game and become a better writer and blogger.

There are a lot of places to take paid online courses, for example, masterclass and “Coursera” or “Future Learn.” Or “digital marketing institute.”

5. Get Blogging Experience

You learn by making mistakes is that simple?

We live in a world where making mistakes is frowned upon, but the best way to learn is through mistakes.

So the fifth step to becoming a blogger after taking some online courses on blogging and writing is to start making mistakes by doing your projects.

Arrogant or critical people often have low self-esteem and are afraid of making mistakes.

If you learn something new, you must make mistakes to fully understand what you’ve learned.

If you have read this far, arrogance is not one of your problems.

Arrogant people rarely read blog posts or watch YouTube tutorials. Why should they?

They are the center of the universe.

Who do you become when things don’t go the way you want?

Success is a poor teacher. You learn the most about yourself when you fail….so don’t be afraid of failing.

Failing is part of the process of becoming a blogger. You can’t have a successful blog without failure. So unsuccessful bloggers are those who never fail.

Successful bloggers know that success is a poor teacher. Learning comes from making mistakes and in the blogging world, making mistakes makes you a better blogger and marketer.

You don’t become a blogger because you’re afraid of failing. By mentioning the things you’re afraid of, I hope to help you better decide if becoming a blogger (whether food or travel) is for you.

My intent is not to frighten you off….. I intend to provide a little “real world’ insight into the ups and downs of becoming a blogger.

Why Talk About Mistakes & Failures?

Another reason for including this fifth step about making mistakes is that, as a human, you are designed to learn by making mistakes:

  • You learn to walk by first falling down and then trying again
  • You learn to ride a bicycle by falling off and then trying again
  • If you had never risked falling, you’d go through life crawling like caterpillars.

One of the missing elements I found reading many blog posts about becoming a blogger is that they don’t go into the emotions and tribulations a would-be blogger goes through when your blogs fail.

If you’re prepared to be a blogger, make money, quit your day job, and live the life of your dreams, I offer you words of advice and encouragement I had when learning blogging as something new:

“Be Prepared to be disappointed”

In a positive sense, not a negative sense. I reason that if you’re prepared for disappointment, you can turn that disappointment into a lesson. Inside every disappointment lies a priceless gem of wisdom.

  • Before this blog, I failed at about three blogs.
  • Fortuneembrace.com, secretesofsucess.com, and skyfacilities.com.
  • None of these blogs exists again. That’s the power of failing.
  • Mentioned any great blogger, and I would tell you that failure was his best friend!
  • Neil Patel failed before he took traction.
  • John Morrow failed before he founded SmartBlogger.com

Keep calm things will work well for you. If you’re calm, you can think better.

6. Shun The Blogging Courses

The next step to becoming a blogger is “Shun The Courses,” not just any courses blogging courses but online courses in general.

Due to the advancement of technology and the gig economy, people are creating online courses to make a side income. That’s the reason many courses are being created online.

Only concentrate on your blog to gain traction for the time being. Concentrate on that for now….. The power of focus.

Why Shun Online Courses?

When you’ve made mistakes from taking action, as above, you may think that taking more online courses would solve the problem, but it won’t.

When mistakes have crippled your blogging journey and put you on the sidelines, you may think taking additional online courses will do the job, but it won’t.

While taking additional courses to hone your blogging skills isn’t a bad idea, don’t get caught up in that rut, and don’t be like me, I took a lot of courses thinking it would lead to opportunities, but they didn’t.

I took about ten online courses, but these courses didn’t move the needle. The only solution is to continue taking action. It doesn’t matter how many times you fail. You need only one success to become great.

About Additional Courses!

If you contemplate taking an additional course, first determine the purpose for which you want the knowledge you’re seeking, then learn where this knowledge can be obtained from reliable sources.

For example, at the time of this writing, I’m taking the HubSpot content marketing certification course, not because of the certificate but because I want to implement what I’m learning into my blog.

In your journey to becoming a blogger, don’t take an additional course if you start a blog and it fails. Instead, make another one and still another one until you succeed.

If the plan you adopt does not work for your first two blogs, replace it with another new plan. If this new plan fails to work, replace it with another one until you find a plan that does work. Taking more courses won’t help, and don’t switch to something other than your blog.

Remember, you only fail if you quit or switch to something different. If you’re persistent, your 9-5 job salary can’t match the money you’ll make from your blog is as simple as that.

7. Refine Your Skills

The lesson I have learned over the years about starting a blog is once you have made those mistakes and get tired, you get traction, and the road seems clear for you to move on.

If you have tried and failed at three blogs like me by now, you should be fully prepared to start a blog of yours and write quality blog posts.

There is no better way to refine your skills than to create, write, and publish your blog.

This makes you aware of the ups and downs of starting a blog and puts you on the road to succeeding faster.

So how do you refine your blogging skills?

4 Ways To Do It (Click to know)

1️⃣ Keep your goals in mind

This is the first step to becoming a blogger, but worth mentioning again.

After failing at 3-4 blogs, my goal was to quit my day job, which kept going without losing enthusiasm.

2️⃣ Write Everyday

This is the most efficient and effective way to refine and hone your blogging skills.

When the time was tough, I opened a Google Doc and started writing. I have written a lot of blog posts that are still sitting on my Google Drive! I haven’t published them yet.

Like this one!

how to become a blogger-blog post image- write everyday

Other times, I had it published on LinkedIn or Medium. I was doing it for the sake of doing it, but it had my writing skills honed. Like these posts:

On LinkedIn:

Or this one on medium:

  • I wrote about 5 of these posts on Medium and about seven on LinkedIn.
  • All these helped me horned my writing skills before starting this blog
  • I learned to write quality long blog posts through writing on Medium and LinkedIn.

3️⃣ Read Every Day

The more you read, the more your writing ability becomes better.

In addition to online content, I read newspapers, short stories, and more. By exposing yourself to a variety of content, your vocabulary will expand, and you’ll find that writing becomes easier.

Plus, you’ll find you have more topics to write about.

4️⃣ Consider freelancing

One way to refine your blogging skills is to start freelancing. It can either be WordPress website designing or writing blog posts for clients.

For this reason, I wrote those posts on Medium and LinkedIn and even created an online portfolio on clippings. me

Blogging is like humans it evolves, so don’t overwhelm yourself at the beginning if things go wrong.

8. Organiz To Become A Blogger

The eighth step to becoming a blogger is to get organized. Now you’ll be more than confident to start and run your blog. Because of the ups and downs at the beginning you overcame, you can run even more than one blog.

Why do I say get organized?

  • If you’re a freelance writer, reduce the number of your clients or have zero.
  • As a freelance blogger, you can stop taking clients to focus on your blog
  • If you were doing design for international clients, it would be awesome to quit that to focus on your pursuits.

Other things to consider are the available resources you’ll need to create and run your blog like:

  • Hosting cost
  • Design cost, for example, Canva costs $12 per month
  • I am using “Generate Press” for your WordPress theme, which costs about $59 a year.
  • The time you’ll have to take care of your blog.
  • Be aware of all these costs before launching your first blog.

9. Launch Your 1st Blog

Have you been working hard and making everyone else rich?

You are programmed to mind other people’s blogs and make them rich.

It begins innocently enough by reading online articles with words of advice such as these:

  • You can make $20K per month as a freelance writer
  • Become a web designer and make $15K per month working for other people’s businesses
  • Study this course and make money in 2 weeks
  • And words of advice like the above

But do you know?

You can start your first blog and make past all those statements.

For example, you can earn $60-80K/month from ad revenue alone on your blog.

So I say launch your first blog because you’ll feel the joy of being a blogger when it starts putting money in your pocket.

Once you feel that joy, you may have no other option than to start a 2nd blog, and 3rd, then a 4th, and then so on.

Believe it or not, I know several people doing it and making $100,000/month from their portfolio of blogs alone.

You Can Also Do It!

It Has Been Done Before!

The five best simple steps to launching your first blog:

Click to know

1️⃣ Choose a niche and a domain name

You need a name (domain) for your blog( Givepress is the name for this site). Don’t overwhelm yourself at the beginning. People spend so much time deciding on a blog name.

  • Others use their names for their blog, like Neil Patel.com
  • Like a food blogger, you can use a name based on your niche.
  • Or based on your audience.
  • Your blog name shouldn’t be too narrow or broad.

On the other hand, your niche is what you’ll be writing about on your blog.

It could be:

  • Health and fitness,
  • Food and cooking,
  • Travel
  • Marketing and advertising
  • Business and Money
  • Working from home
  • Freelancing
  • Writing
  • Online earning tips, or
  • Coronavirus ?!

You choose!

To choose your niche, consider these three factors:

Click to know
1. Your Researching Ability

Your research ability is vital!

Firstly, if you are considering becoming a blogger and making money, you must know how to do quality research and create content for your blog.

  • With research, you can create blog posts on almost any topic.
  • Creating content for your blog is all about research.
  • You’ll research, outline, and write your blog posts. Is that simple?
2. The Expertise You Have

Secondly, Your expertise is essential if you want to become a blogger this month.

What do you know that would be beneficial to your audience?

What profession or career do you have that would help provide value to your audience?

  • A comedian?
  • A marketer?
  • An engineer?
  • A teacher
  • You can look for a niche within your field to make it more profitable.
3. Your Creativity

Thirdly, blogging is all about creativity.

If you’re creative enough, you can turn one idea into several ideas and make a fortune for yourself.

It’s through creativity that all basic or new ideas are developed.

Salesforce researched and found that creativity and critical thinking, by far, were the driving factors for new entrepreneurs to start their businesses during the pandemic.

Salesforce.com

Creativity helps bloggers understand their challenges and find ways to overcome them.

Choose an area that interests you and try to become the best blogger in that niche.

Figuring out your niche would come as you write more, iterate, and move on with your content.

2️⃣ Write your blog posts

I can’t over-emphasize this enough!

Open a Google doc and start writing!

Choose a topic based on your niche, create a headline and an outline, and write the article, then a second and a third, and so on.

This a tip I use consistently.

I will write several articles and keep them on Google Docs without publishing them. This offers me pressure-free in writing articles for my blog.

Sometimes I can write 5-10 articles before buying a domain name and launching my blog.

How to write blog posts in 5 simple steps
Step 1: Choose a topic based on your niche

You’ll brainstorm about the topics and choose one that makes perfect sense.

  • Sometimes it comes naturally.
  • Other times you get a topic based on a blog post you read
  • Or it could be a fascinating statistic you read online
  • Make sure you keep a note of ideas that come to mind.
Step 2: Research the topic

Researching your topic comes down to SEO.

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization.

With this skill, you’ll optimize your blog posts to appear in search engines like Google, Bing, and the like.

This helps bring traffic (visitors) to your site. The basics of SEO to take care of are:

  • Keyword Research and
  • Link building

Keyword Research: This refers to figuring out whether people are looking for what you’re writing about.

To do this well, you’d use keyword research tools like Google Trends, Wordtracker, Ahrefs, Moz, and Bozzsumo.

For example, if I were to write about the topic “coffee,” I could put it in Google Trends to see whether the keyword is growing or declining.

To check your keyword,

Go to Google Trends

Enter a keyword in the search bar and press enter on your keyboard

This is the result

This chart shows there is interest in the term “coffee.”

But you have to use other tools like “Wordtracker” to see what questions people are searching about coffee because coffee is an extensive term.

Wordtracker keyword research tool

Wordtracker went the extra mile to give you the following:

  • The number of searches per month,
  • Competitions (how hard is it to appear on Google’s top page for the keyword) and
  • Keyword variations in writing about like “Dutch bro”

Link Building: Building links are like votes in the eyes of Google. When an authority website links to your website, Google thinks you have something noteworthy to say that’s why they are linking to you.

Links give you the power to get more traffic to your site and increase your revenue.

There’s much to learn about link build and SEO in general! search on Google to learn more about SEO!

Step 3: Write clickable headlines

After you’re done with your research, the next step is to write a captivating outline for your blog post. Here are some tips:

  • Include the keyword or topic in the headline, especially at the beginning
  • Include numbers in your headlines
  • Incorporate signs like $$$ in your headlines
  • Include the year in your headlines
Step 4: Write the body

Here is where the work happens. You create an outline for the blog post and fill it with your ideas or the information you have to share with your audience.

Step 5: Write an introduction and conclusion

This tip is optional!

Some writers recommend you write the introduction and conclusion of your article last.

But you can write in the normal order from title to body and conclusion.

3️⃣ Get a web hosting

If your blog can’t be found online, no traffic and no revenue will be generated from your business.

Web hosting helps get your site online.

Bluehost, by far, is the easiest to get started, but there are others like Dreamhost, Siteground, etc.

4️⃣ Design your blog

If you have followed this article well by now, you’ll know the “ins and outs” of WordPress.

So to design your blog, you need a WordPress theme, which gives a look and feel of your blog; it’s like the clothes you wear.

Many WordPress themes like Generatepress, Astra, and Elementor(beginner-friendly) exist.

All these themes come in both free and paid versions. Search on Google to learn more about  WordPress themes.

  • Choose an easy one
  • Don’t overwhelm yourself at the  beginning with your site looks
  • Choose a free version to start with.

Design the core pages like

  • The homepage
  • About page
  • The contact page and the
  • Blog

5️⃣ Start publishing & promoting

You’ve some blog posts sitting on your Google Docs already, so the next step is to publish one to five and launch your blog.

Writing some blog posts before getting your blog online relieves pressure on you.

I found that it’s better to have some articles than zero before launching!

There are many ways to make money blogging, but as a beginner, these are the basics;

Click to know them

1️⃣ Display ads revenue

This is the most popular and basic way to make money on your blog.

Possibly, you have seen these ads before. They appear on blog posts and distract you as you scroll on your phone or laptop.

Also, they’re annoying. There are several platforms to join, the most common being Google ads. However, there are others far more profitable than Google ads like:

  • Mediavine
  • Carbon ads
  • Propeller ads
  • Taboola
  • Blog ads
  • Media.net

2️⃣ Freelancing

You can also take clients and do their blogging or digital marketing services.

Put “hire me” on your blog header so clients know you’re open to collaborating and taking on freelance projects.

Depending on what you want to offer as a service, you can make up to $10,000/month doing freelance services.

Some services to offer include:

  • WordPress website design
  • Graphics design
  • Freelance writing, for example, blog posts
  • Content marketing, e.t.c.

3️⃣ Affiliate marketing

Another popular way to make money on your site is through affiliate marketing. With affiliate marketing, you partner with brands to promote their products to your audiences, and when someone buys through your link, you get a commission on that purchase. It is as simple as that.

To be effective, you’ll embed affiliate links on your blog posts and encourage your audience to click the links through persuasion copywriting.

Many things count when becoming a blogger, especially since you can’t be a blogger without a laptop, so you must get one.

When you scale your first blog, you’ll want to start another blog and build a portfolio of them to make the money you want and live the life of your dreams.

First, define your reason for becoming a blogger, get the necessary tools, learn if you haven’t done so, write daily, and learn about SEO.
